George Zedan
George Zedan has been coaching and mentoring kids for 23 years. After spending a majority of his career coaching traditional U.S. kids, Zedan founded Veritas in 2018 to help narrow the gap in the game of basketball for Latin American kids. Since 2018, Veritas has had five 20+ wins seasons, five appearances in the Grind Session World Championships, three appearances in the Grind Session Elite Eight, and 26 student athletes have moved on to play in college across all levels (D1, D2, D3, NAIA, JUCO).
In year six, Veritas Academy was one of fourteen schools selected to participate in the prestigeous Nike EYBL Scholastic league, which is considered the best high school basketball league in the United States. Zedan started his High School coaching career back in 2006, as a part of Montebello High School’s staff. Zedan spent 5 years at Montebello and helped lead his team to the best record in school history (28-2) as well as back to back league championships in 2009 & 2010. After Montebello, Zedan moved onto Cantwell Sacred Heart where he coached for six years (2011-2017).
During his time at Cantwell, he took a private catholic school, and competed in a national schedule. At Cantwell, Zedan was named the Whittier Daily News three times, qualified for the CIF State Championships six times. Over his six years at Cantwell, Coach Zedan helped 8 players make it to the college level.
While at Cantwell, Coach Zedan was also coaching club basketball with notable clubs Earl Watson Elite, West Coast Elite, Pangos, and Pump n Run. Across all clubs, he coached more than 80 Division 1 players, including 8 NBA players. Coach Zedan continues to implement a disciplined, physical, and organized play style in his players which helps them succeed at the next level.
